Hi, I'm Joana
I used to be a scientist—I actually have a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering—but life had other plans. Photography found me during a personal identity crisis. It gave me purpose, clarity, and a way to reconnect with myself and others.After years of running my own portrait studio in Porto and training with mentors in the U.S., I learned that a great photo isn't about the perfect pose; it’s about the trust and the story behind the eyes.In 2019, life shifted again as I relocated to Berlin and stepped into the messy world of motherhood with my two little ones. It was a season of quiet growth, but it completely changed how I see the world.Now, I’m stepping back behind the lens with a fresh perspective and a lot of heart. My goal hasn't changed: I want to show you how powerful and beautiful you truly are, even (and especially) in the middle of life’s chaos.
